Welcome everyone to My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cartridge Blog Hop! If you came from Autumn's Buggy Creations then you are in the right place! You don't want to miss anyone, so if you didn't please start with Erica, our lovely host this weekend!
Even though the weather isn't indicating it, summer is coming to an end. At least where I live!
I have tons of beach pictures so I thought I would dedicate an album just for the beach. I found a spiral bound album by Heidi Swapp in my stash and decided to make it a coffee table album and create a beach scene for the front.
Life is a Beach
Carts I used~
Life is a Beach
Life is a Beach~
Chairs are #50 on the overlay and handbook. Cut~ 4.49-4.06

Layer Feature #50 Cut~ 2.78-4.06

I used the flip feature on the Gypsy to have chairs facing each other.
Flip Flops #33 cut~ 1.68-1.71 from cork paper
Layer feature #33 cut~ 1.19-1.71 from red cardstock
Chairs are #50 on the overlay and handbook. Cut~ 4.49-4.06

Layer Feature #50 Cut~ 2.78-4.06
Colorbok white cardstock
I used the flip feature on the Gypsy to have chairs facing each other.
Swim trunks are #40 cut~ 1.91-1.54
Beach Babe by Fancy Pants Designs (Tropical)
Layer feature # 40
Blue cardstock from stash
I made a tie on the swim trunks with 1ply twine
Bikini #41 cut~1.51-2.29
Base- white cardstock
Layer feature cut~ 1.32-2.29
Red specialty paper from stash
I bought the cute little clothes pins at my LSS
Sorry I can't find the label now!
Flip Flops #33 cut~ 1.68-1.71 from cork paper
Layer feature #33 cut~ 1.19-1.71 from red cardstock
Surf Board is #53 cut~3.25-3.94
I used one of the surfboards on the patterned paper, Rusted Sun by Fancy Pants Design (Surf's Up)
to cover the base cut then I covered it with Liquid Glass by Close To My Heart to give it a 'surf board finish'.
The palm tree is #10 cut~ 5.53-8.06
Base showing the trunk cut from core color cardstock by Core'dinations (Browne)
I sanded the trunk and ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Forest Branches folder.
Layer feature #10 cut~ 10.30-8.06
Top fronds are Core'dinations sanded and bottom fronds are Paper Studio cardstock (brights)
Shells are #46 cut~ 1.79-1.71
I cut the shells using Core'dinations cardstock and when I cut the base that has cut lines to show you where to place the layers I took a chance and peeled the centers away revealing the peachy coordinating paper beneath and giving me the look I wanted. No layering little tiny pieces!
Seagulls #48/shift from Life is a Beach cut~2.00-1.94
white cardstock
Celebrate with Flourish
(for a little whimsy)
Cloud and Sun #56 Base cut~5.48-3.00
Core'dinations whitewash
Layer feature #56 Sun~ shift/layer cut~ 3.02-3.00
Center of sun I used center point on patterned paper Beach Babe by Fancy Pants Designs (High Tide)
for the sunburst.
Dude
I was completely surprised to find this cute umbrella stand on Dude and had to add it to the beach scene!
I found a grass type specialty paper in my stash and used the deep cut blade on my Expression to make this cut #40 cut~ 5.87-7.24
I also made the same cut again and using the Gypsy I hid the cuts on the umbrella to make a solid base.
I layered all and used pop dots with the cut outs which gave it lots of depth.
This was all placed on a black cardstock base.
Notice that I flipped the umbrella so it would face the other way over the chair.
(Done with Gypsy)
I kan-dee ribbon by Pepples, Inc.
Next stop will be the very talented Courtney~
