Create A Critter

Welcome everyone, today we are using the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge.  If you didn't come from Erica's Blog  please go back to check out the projects made by some of the other design team members.
I get a lot of my inspiration just browsing through ladies magazines that I pick up at the grocery store and I saw a cute little Thanksgiving decoration and decided to adapt it using my Cricut.
This inspiration came just in time for me try out the Cricut Craft Room Exclusive cartridge 3D Pinwheels.  It's a digital download to the Cricut Craft Room software that just became available to everyone. This was my first time using CCR and when I saw the digital images, I purchased the 3D Pinwheels, selected my project and cut it out, all while in my pj's!  How's that for convenience?

I cut the scalloped pinwheel at 6.25 using a double sided patterned paper 'Picadilly' from Basic Grey.

I found the cute little turkey on Create A Critter cart that I won from Erica awhile back, cut at 3" using Provo Craft Cardstock. I hand cut and added a buckle to the hat and gave him some google eyes.

Using a straight pin I inserted it above the turkey's nose and through the pinwheel then into the eraser end of a pencil.

I hope everyone had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving!

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's Recipe Blog Hop

You should have come from Erica's Craft Room, if not please start at the beginning so you won't miss any of the great projects.

Today I made a project for Erica's Recipe Blog Hop.  I'm not a great baker so I'm always looking for easy and delicious!  I found this recipe by Paula Dean, I love her!  It's all about the butter!

Apple Fried Pies

I used Sweet Tooth Boxes and Ribbon and Rosettes to make a cute little box to hold the recipe.
I thought it would be a great gift to include this in a basket with the indgredients, who wouldn't love that?

It's actually a cake box from Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge.
# 1 pg 10 <cake>  cut~ 11.48-11.00

For the topper I used the newly released cartridge Ribbon and Rosettes
I've been waiting on this one!

Bottom layer are leaves.  #46 pg 66 cut ~ 2.50
I cut eight leaves , scored in the center , shaped and inked. I then punched a hole in one end a connected them with a brad and fanned them out forming a base for my rosette.
The bottom rosette is # 41 pg 61 <Scallop8> cut ~ 1.5 times 6  Score and fold and adhere together to form rosette.
The middle rosette is # 11 pg 31 <petal>  cut 1'' x 6
The top rosette I made from the strip that you tear off of 12x12 patterned paper by American Crafts 'Autumn Harvest'  On one side it had a row of apples. I just scored and folded to make rosette for the top. I then added the orange glitter brad from We R Memory Keepers

I hand cut the recipe tag to fit inside the box after printing it out on my computer. I inked, layered and attached them together in one corner with a brad .

I cut out the cute little harvest, apples, fall fun tags from the 12x12 patterned paper 'NightFall' (fall fun) from American Crafts and pop dotted them to the box and recipe card.

Hope you got some ideas for a great gift and yummy treat!

Up next is ... Tammy

Welcome to the Giving Back Blog Hop

You should have come from Amanda's Blog, if not please start at the beginning with Kat so you won't miss any of the great layouts.
After hopping you'll want to go to Erica's Facebook page and leave a comment.  We will be randomly selecting someone from those comments to win blog candy.

This blog hop is about giving back and saying thanks to our leader and hostess to My Cricut Craft Room, Erica

For my contribution to the album that was the idea and thoughtfulness of Laurie, one of our design team sisters, I made a layout using a picture of Erica's alter ego 'Secret Santa'.
Christmas happens to be Erica's favorite holiday and if you follow her on Facebook or her blog you will quickly find out all about Secret Santa.  You never know when she will pop up with a game and or prize giveaway, but more than prizes Secret Santa has given more than she will probably ever know. She has lead us in her passion to give to others and I'm so grateful to have been included in her endeavers to contribute to our soldiers and to the children of St Judes.  She has given so many a place to come and share a love for the one thing we all have in common...crafting.
We are from all over the world and even though everyone has a different story, lifestyle, young and old we have bonded as friends. Meeting Erica and this group has opened up my world to a whole new experience of crafting for me, not to mention the best support from some wonderful friends.
This is what 'Secret Santa' has given to me and I am eternally grateful.

Thank you Erica!
You inspire us all!

Erica's Craft Room 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

You should have started at Erica's Craft Room, if not please start at the beginning.

This is day two of the 100 Cartridge blog hop with a whole new line up and new projects.  I hope everyone had a chance to check out day one of Erica's talented design team! If you just came from Lucinda's Blog you are in the right place.

My project this weekend is a two page layout ( I hope you can stand one more Halloween!)  I really love this holiday and I'm not ready for it to be over!

I used the following carts on this 'very busy' two page layout. With so many awesome cuts on these carts, I tried to utilize as many as I could!  It was that or you were going to be seeing Halloween until New Years!

Carts~
Happy Hauntings
Autumn Celebrations
Holiday Cakes
Blackletter

Happy Hauntings

<Tree-s> pg 67 #40  Cut 6.27-7.21  ~    CTMH/ Black cardstock
<Tree> Cut 6.83-7.21  ~  Bo Bunny /Orange
The tree was too large to run through the
Cuttlebug so I folded a couple of the branches in to make it fit. I used the Forest Branches folder.
<Gate> pg 62  #45  Cut 7.08-4.06
I heat embossed the gate using black embossing powder , then sprayed it lightly with Chattered Angels Glimmer Mist. See below~

I love how it gives it an old rusted appearance.  The gravestones are heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
<Grvyrd-s> (grass with headstones)    Cut 6.07-4.06 ~ Black cardstock
Grass is Layer 1  ~  Green Cardstock
Beware on sign is Layer 1-shift Cut 2.10-4.06 ~ Orange

Autumn Celebrations

Trick or Treaters are pg 59  #48  Layer 2   Cut 7.57-3.21 ~ Black cardstock

Aren't they sooo cute?!

Holiday Cakes

Don't forget to look at these carts for your seasonal graphics, there are some amazing ones!
I went through mine and made a cheat sheet for each season so I wouldn't forget about them.
They are NOT just for the cake machine!

Haunted House <Spooky1-s>  pg 35 #8 Cut 5.54-7.24~ Black Cardstock
<Spooky1> 7.24  ~ Orange/ Bo Bunny

Border <Fall4> pg 63 #46 Cut .029 ~ Black cardstock

Blackletter used for font.

Happy Hauntings

There are 10 very intricate, beautiful frames on this catridge and I used four different ones.
The first size you see listed with each is the size of my picture.  I then used George and Basic Shapes and chose the shape of my frame ( oval, square, ect.), made it the size of my picture then used it in layers on my Gypsy to get the correct size of the frame I wanted. After fitting the two together, I would then delete the George shape and cut the frame.  All my pictures fit perfectly.

Raggity Ann ~ <Frame 8>   pg 45    2.50-2.00 (picture)   Cut  3.08-2.94 (frame)
Cow ~ <Frame 9>   pg 46     2.50-2.00   Cut 3.83-3.79
Jeannie ~ <Frame 7>   pg 44      2.50-3.50  Cut 3.24-4.76
Mermaid ~ <Frame 1>   pg 38      1.50-2.50  Cut 3.24-3.79
Pumpkin ~ <Frame 8>    pg 45

I cut these on lowest speed, medium pressure and blade depth 5 using Close To My Heart Black cardstock. I then heat embossed with black embossing powder.
Green and white dotted paper is Too Cute To Spook by Bella Blvd.

This is my finished project~

This is my granddaughter and some of the costumes I made for her through the years...
WONDERFUL MEMORIES!

Next you should go to Jen's Blog

If you get lost along the way here is the entire line up.
