Easter Treats

Easter's on it's way and I have a  couple of more treats and a card to share!

The first is a 3D carrot from Teresa Collins 'Bunnies and Chicks' Cricut Exclusive.

Easy to fill with Easter goodies!

This was designed and cut using CCR and my Expression.  The carrot is 10.917-9.00.
Although there is a layered bow image with this exclusive I decided to use the scalloped bow on the Cricut Exclusive - 3D Bows, cut at 8.13-4.29 using my Gypsy (Yes, the exclusive is now linked on my Gypsy too!)
I layered the patterned paper "Smile" Floral orange paper by My Minds Eye over white cardstock and then added Glitz 'Stardust' glitter gel by Close To My Heart on the scallops.

I topped the carrot with a  green card stock border, fringed with Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors.
I embellished the top of the carrot with a border using Martha Stewarts Doily Punch and added  Recollections Pearl Stickers in the center of each doily.

The egg label is My Creative Time's 'Hello Spring Stamp Set with Layering Egg dies and 'Color Me Happy' For Happy Easter.  I popped between the layers and ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Folder. I then added a little bow using Baker's Twine.

Next is a little Easter Basket

This was all made using another Cricut Exclusive, 'Easter Basket'
I'm loving being able to use the fill mode in CCR and choose the colors for my image. It really makes it easy to place the correct paper color on your mat when you are ready to cut.

The chick and egg image is cut at 3"

This is the other side.

Happy Easter is cut at 2.208-1.417/ Shadow 2.194-1.417
Label is   black cut at 3.25-2.264
green  3.014-2.083
white  2.75-1.903

I used Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors for the grass and Martha Stewart Doily Punch border on the handle.

The basket was cut at 11.00-10.62

And last is a Easter Card

I used the cute little bunnies from 'Hello Spring Stamp Set' by My Creative Time. The egg is from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. I quilled the carrots and used Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors for the carrot top. Baker's Twine holds the little label from the Ap cart and stamped 'Happy Easter' using 'Color Me Happy' stamp set by My Creative Time.

I'm happy to say my Expression 2 is working great with my wifi adapter and I'm really enjoying using it with CCR. I just got a few more Imagine carts and I'll be playing with that next. I'm also going to be trying out the new Cinch I received...I'll let you know how that goes!

Easter's On It's Way!

Here come's Peter Cottontail, coming down the bunny trail...OK, I can't get this little tune
out of my head!
This was one of my favorite songs when I was a child and I've been humming away while I've been making all of my Easter goodies!

I've been dying to make a milk carton since I got Tags, Bags Boxes and More 2, but a little apprehensive to try the new scoring blade that compliments this cart.  No need! I love it!
I think this was a great design element in making the 3D projects and I loved how well it worked using my Gypsy. Let me tell you how.

In the TBBM2 handbook I chose the milkbox pg. 33 #10
The first layer on my Gypsy <MilkBox> (This is the cut layer)
The second layer is <MlkBox-S> (This is the scoring layer)
I layered the scoring layer over the cutting layer to make sure they lined up.
Both are 6.5"
Next I chose layer 2 and put my scoring blade into machine> loaded mat> multi cut 2, speed 3, pressure 5, blade 6 on my Expression.
Next I left the mat in and chose return to design on Gypsy. I then put my cutting blade back in the machine, chose Layer 1 and cut at the same settings.
I used the 'Easter Blessings' on the Color Me Happy Stamp Set by My Creative Time for the label.
I love this set and I'll be showing more!

Here's the other side!

Hi Blog! Hi Bloggers!

Boy it's great to be back!  I've been MIA on my blog since Christmas while helping a friend recoop from a knee replacement surgery. Totally rewarding when you can help someone become mobile again and pain free. Besides, my motives where self serving...she's my craft shopping buddy and we can't let a knee stop us!  The surgery was successful and all is well now.

In the mean time I acquired three new Cricut machines, the E2, the Imagine and the Mini. I'm determined to master all these machines and The Cricut Craft Room and put them to their maximum use!
Happy to say, so far so good and if you'd like to follow along with me I'll share the UPs and DOWNS in my Cricut trials.

Yesterday I made a quick card for my grandson's birthday. (The party was last night.)
I'm still totally out of my comfort zone making cards and trying to make one for a 14 year old boy was a real challenge for me!

This is what I came up with.
I asked myself what all 14 year old boys want...and in Jordons case with two younger brothers, I was sure he could use PRIVACY!

I perused my Gypsy and found this Do Not Enter on the Cricut cartridge Dude and decided to make a
door knob hanger for his room.

I found a 4"x 9" card and envelope "Skinny Cards" by Canvas Corp that I had purchased at Hobby Lobby for my base.

I used a punch to cut a circle at the top and slit to allow the card to be placed on the door knob.
Then cut and added the neccesary layers of the Do Not Enter #10 on the Dude cart, Shift/Lock>layer
cut at 3''

I added Making Memories moulding strips 'link/thin' at he top (there is a slit in that as well) and the middle and bottom.

This is the inside.
for the 14 I used thickers 'Maple' matte puffy letter stickers.
I stamped 'year old' using CTMH alphabet stamp set.
And 'Happy Birthday' is Studio g clear stamps.
I just instructed my grandson to cut the front off and it would be ready to hang on his door!
Wish I thought of before to put -----cut here---- on the fold but if I make another, that is what I will do!
