I Hate To Glue Stuff!

Just yesterday I received an award and part of the criteria to accept the award was to list 7 random facts about me.  Why I owned up to #3 I'm not sure (it just popped out!) but I feel the need to explain.

I don't think I was allowed to play with glue when I was little.  I remember being obsessed with paper dolls.  I loved to cut them out with the variety of outfits and dress them in a new one whenever the mood struck me. No glueing, nothing permenant...even that word "permanant" sends me into a panic attack! I know, I know, repositional glue is my "best friend"! Talk about panic when I'm out of that!

When I'm working on a layout I'll change it up a dozen times, add this, take away that.  I may even leave it for days...er...weeks, glance at it occasionly until what I want pops into my head and when I'm happy with it I'm done! No, I mean really done...in...I don't want to glue it. I don't know if it is the fear of everything not going back in the same place or I just really suck at glueing! All I know is I'm ready to move on to something else by then!  My scrapbooking friend can slap 5 to 10 pages together to my one so I get a lot of ribbing from her! She has no fear!  Maybe this is why I haven't ever done cards before...you actually have to finish them to send them!   Don't get me wrong, I have tons of albums, I do finally get around to glueing but it's a chore!  At least working with the Cricut I glue the layers as I go and the rewards are immediate.  I'm changing but it's a work in progress!

So this is my confession, is there anyone else out there like me? Is it a commitment issue?  (I've been married over forty years, now that's a commitment!)

IDK, maybe I'll ask Dr. Phil!

My Cricut Craft Room "Sunshine and Smiles" Blog Hop

              
               Hi everyone, I am grateful to be a part of  My Cricut Craft Room's blog hop this weekend
to help kick off Erica's goal to collect 5000 cards for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. The
"Sunshine and Smiles"cards are very special to her and will be delivered at the end of this month.

               I enjoyed making these cards for the kids and would like to share them with you.

                    This is my "Sunshine Coming You Way" card. I used the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge
for the sun, popped the layers in between and added the buttons. The papers are from an activity pad by Me & my Big Ideas.  I cut out the arrows and arranged them on the background paper.

                 For the inside I chose an activity page I scanned and added the "color me" bubble.
Just an added surprise for the kids!

                 My second card is "Smile"

                   I used Walk in my Garden Cricut cartridge.  The paper is Rusty Pickle and ribbon is
Sugar n Spice.

                     This is the inside for the Smile card.


                     The third card is "Ruff Day?"

                  This was made with Zooballo

                 My last card is Hello

                 I used Wild Card and Sweethearts for this card  and tweaked it a little ( I hand cut the beak
and added the heart for wings).  I also used Accent Essentials for the swirls on the little birds head.

Sharing the love!

         This past weekend Erica of My Cricut Craft Room hosted  the 100 + Cartridge Blog Hop.  It was my first, both as a participant and hopper and the experience was great!  There was a
  lot of sharing of the LOVE going on! I don't know which I enjoyed more...commenting on all
  the beautiful projects or receiving them, but I wanted to give each and everyone of  you who
  visited and left the wonderful compliments a BIG thank you! 

         This group has so much talent and it was a great way to share! Thanks Erica!

         I'd like to share another project I made a while back. I'm always looking for new ways to
showcase my pictures and when I met Fran of  Little Windows, brilliant photo jewelry. I knew I
had to try this. It is one of the most rewarding projects I've ever done!

100 + Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

                Hi everyone, I hope you have enjoyed hopping along so far, there's a lot more and you won't want to miss any!  You should have come from Christina's blog, so if you didn't please go to Erica's blog to start.

                
                 It's summer time and since I'm from the Sunshine State I chose the Splish Splash  Cricut Lite cartridge.  My layout is titled All the Fish in the Sea, from a little quote that seemed to be me.

                                                  All the birds in the sky
                                                  All the fish in the sea
                                                  Will never explain
                                                  what you mean to me.

                  I added this text to my photo using an editing software.
                  I decided to use centerpoint on my Cricut Expression to showcase my picture. Erica recently gave us a tutorial on centerpoint, you really should try it if you haven't already. Thanks Erica!  The frame is 5-5 on the overlay (5th row-5 over) The cut is 7.50 5.50 on the gypsy. I had to use rotate to position the cut out on my patterned paper, which is Best Creation Inc.

I needed some small fish so I used Life is a Beach, this is one of my favorites, living in Florida....well you get it!

And I can't remember the seahorse cut ,sorry but I did run him through the Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots. Oh, and lots of bling!  They are class a' peel stickers by Stampendous.  I LOVE them! I also used pop dots to give the layout some dimension.
Whew! With all these cuts to keep up with I did find a way that helps me, as I cut out on practice paper (another of Erica's tips!) I jot down the cut I want and save it .  I just don't know where I put the seahorse!  But stay tuned I think I have come up with a solution for that and I will share!
                I have one more project to share and I will send you on your way.

                   This is my first attempt to cut fabric and I can tell you what NOT to do! Do not use a dull blade (Wal Mart was out)! Other than that it went pretty well. I found some old burlap I had and some beachy material (at Wal Mart, I had to buy something!). I used burlap fabricpage that I applied the fish to for the pocket (purchased at LSS) . I didn't have a pattern so I looked at an old beach bag and patterned it after that. I'm happy! And so is my granddaughter (she's already claimed it).
Oh dear, where's THAT cut?  I saved it on the gypsy this time!  I grouped them together and sized them at 10.06 height, then ungrouped and created two layers to cut them out using two pieces of material.
First time doing this too! I used Heat and Bond and it worked great on the burlap.  One more thing be sure to use a very sticky mat.
